Semantic Matchmaking using Ranked Instance Retrieval

چکیده
Finding matching answers to a given request is hard, in particular if the objective is to nd the most suitable partner. This especially holds in the context of the Semantic Web and its underlying speci cation language, i. e., description logics (DL). We present a clean, formal approach allowing users to devise preferences for queries on description logics knowledge bases. Thereby it is possible to use established DLreasoners, particularly those tailored at instance retrieval like KAON2. Furthermore, our approach allows the formulation of soft constraints which is considered an important feature of semantic matchmaking.

Semantic Matchmaking and Ranking: Beyond Deduction in Retrieval Scenarios
Matchmaking can be basically seen as the process of computing a ranked list of resources with respect to a given query. Semantic matchmaking can be hence described as the process of computing such ordered list also taking into account the semantics of resources description and of the query, provided with reference to a logic theory (an ontology, a set of rules, etc.) [3]. A matchmaking step is ...

Content-based image retrieval (CBIR) has received considerable research interest in the recent years. The basic problem in CBIR is the semantic gap between the high-level image semantics and the low-level image features. Region-based image retrieval and learning from user interaction through relevance feedback are two main approaches to solving this problem. Recently, the research in integra...
متن کاملA Graphical Evaluation Tool for Semantic Web Service Matchmaking
Semantic matchmaking – i.e., the task of finding matching (Web) services based on semantic information – has been a prominent field of research lately, and a wide range of supporting tools both for research and practice have been published. However, no suitable solution for the visualization of matchmaking results exists so far. In this paper, we present the Matchmaking Visualizer, an applicati...

An important objective of the Semantic Web is to make Electronic Commerce interactions more flexible and automated. To achieve this, standardization of ontologies, message content and message protocols will be necessary. In this paper we investigate how Semantic and Web Services technologies can be used to support service advertisement and discovery in e-commerce. In particular, we present some...
متن کاملSemiautomatic Image Retrieval Using the High Level Semantic Labels
Content-based image retrieval and text-based image retrieval are two fundamental approaches in the field of image retrieval. The challenges related to each of these approaches, guide the researchers to use combining approaches and semi-automatic retrieval using the user interaction in the retrieval cycle. Hence, in this paper, an image retrieval system is introduced that provided two kind of qu...
